chevron gives $500,000 to donorschoose keep kids learning initiative
April 1, 2020
Chevron is deeply rooted in our commitment to education. Preparing the next generation of problem solvers is essential to building a world where energy is affordable, reliable and ever cleaner.
As the COVID-19 has closed schools, teaching and learning have become increasingly challenging. To keep kids on their educational track, teachers need to get supplies to their students, especially in the country’s highest-need communities.
In response, Chevron has donated $500,000 to the DonorsChoose Keep Kids Learning initiative. The program provides U.S. teachers from the country’s highest-need schools with $1,000 in grants to purchase personalized educational care packages and essential supplies for students to keep up with their curriculum at home.

While the Keep Kids Learning program is initially offering grants to the highest-need schools, DonorsChoose says the challenges of remote learning are “urgent and far-reaching” and hopes to raise enough funds to expand it to more teachers and students in need.
Chevron’s support for DonorsChoose aligns with our deeply rooted commitment to education. We are proud to support our local teachers and help them get kids much needed supplies so they can continue learning during this challenging time.
