Navin K. Mahajan
Vice President and Treasurer
Navin K. Mahajan, 56, is vice president and treasurer for Chevron Corporation, a position he assumed in 2019. He is responsible for banking, financing, cash management, insurance, pension investments, and credits and receivables activities across the corporation.
Previously Mahajan was vice president of finance for Chevron Downstream & Chemicals where he was responsible for overseeing the global finance activities across all areas of the organization.
Mahajan was assistant treasurer, opco financing for Chevron Corporation from 2013 – 2017. In that role he was responsible for advising Chevron’s operating companies and affiliates on internal and external financing, financial risk management and general treasury support.
In 2010, Mahajan was appointed chief compliance officer for Chevron Corporation where he had operational responsibility for implementing the company’s global compliance program.
From 2001 through 2010, Mahajan held various finance positions including regional finance officer for Chevron Downstream Latin America (Coral Gables), regional vice president finance for Chevron’s Upstream IndoAsia Business Unit (Jakarta), and CFO of Unocal’s Midstream & Trade business (Houston).
Before joining Unocal, Mahajan was investment officer, Oil and Gas Division of the International Finance Corporation, the private-sector arm of the World Bank Group in Washington, DC.
Mahajan serves on the board of GSCaltex Corporation.
Mahajan joined Unocal in 1996 as director of project and structured finance. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Delhi, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Rochester, and completed Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development.
